Independent Study
Short-Term Independent Study Information
We understand that there may be times when students need to be absent from school for various reasons. Our Short-Term Independent Study program allows students to keep up with their academic work during extended absences. Below are the rules and guidelines for participating in this program.
Make-Up Work Due to Absences
- Responsibility: Students are responsible for completing any academic work missed during their absence.
- Teacher's Role: The teacher will determine which assignments, tests, projects, or presentations the student needs to complete and will set deadlines for the work.
Requesting Assignments for Absences
- Process: If your child is going to be absent, parents/guardians may request their assignments by either:
- Emailing the teacher directly
- Calling the school office
- Timing: Please submit assignment requests by 10:00 am on the day you would like to pick up your child’s work.
- Pick-Up: Requested assignments can be collected from the school office between 2:30-3:30 pm or by appointment.
Eligibility for Independent Study Credit
Completed assignments result in the student earning full attendance and academic credit (see details below).
